Thanksgiving at Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen

11.29.22 | Food for the Soul

Thanksgiving is a special day at Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen. Our culinary team provides our guests with a feast of turkey, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, and pie. Our guests enjoy the community of guests, staff, and volunteers at the Soup Kitchen as we celebrate the holiday together.

This year, our Food Pantry guests were also able to celebrate Thanksgiving with ingredients we provided to them for their Thanksgiving dinner tables. Over two weeks, our team distributed turkeys to 1,279 families who visited the Food Pantry. Thanks to our friends at Chelsea Market and Food Bank for New York City for donating turkeys for our Food Pantry.

On Thanksgiving Day, 20 volunteers helped our team serve 1,000 hot meals to guests in need of a meal. Our guests enjoyed pies donated by Tavola NYC and Thanksgiving feasts prepared by our culinary team.

Thanks to everyone who made this Thanksgiving a special one!
