Eleanor Roosevelt’s Episcopal faith is often dismisses as a relic of her upbringing, but Eleanor Roosevelt’s Nightly Prayer uncovers how her devotion to Jesus’s galvanized her work. Through extensive research, Donn Mitchell (Holy Apostles parishioner and Fordham University teacher), reveals that Roosevelt’s faith remained with her throughout her life – in public commitments and private rituals, growing out of her life in the church, and served as a wellspring for her courage, compassion, and moral clarity. The author, Donn Mitchell will lead us in a discussion of the book on Sunday, September 13, after the 11:00 am service.
