The first book we will read together is The Church Cracked Open: Disruption, Decline and New Hope for Beloved Community by Stephanie Spellers. Written during the pandemic by the Canon for Evangelism, Reconciliation and Creation for the Episcopal Church, this book explores the tensions between our denomination’s historical connection to establishment and empire and our desire to love Jesus and become a church in solidarity with the marginalized and oppressed. Mother Anna will lead in person discussion groups the first at 10 am and the second at 12 pm on July 11.
