The Day of Pentecost: WhitSunday — Holy Eucharist (Said in the Muriel Moore Chapel)
We will gather for a celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 9 am in the Muriel Moore chapel on Pentecost: Whitsunday. The Sunday that is seven weeks (50 days) after Easter Day is the Feast of Pentecost. Pentecost is the day on which we remember the story given to us in the second chapter of the Book of Acts.
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
“When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability. Now there were devout Jews from every nation under heaven living in Jerusalem. And at this sound the crowd gathered and was bewildered, because each one heard them speaking in the native language of each.”
All are welcome as we gather together at 9:00 am in our beloved church for Pentecost: Whitsunday
