Summer Reads 2021 — Book 1 — The Church Cracked Open

The first book we will read together is The Church Cracked Open: Disruption, Decline and New Hope for Beloved Community by Stephanie Spellers. Written during the pandemic by the Canon for Evangelism, Reconciliation and Creation for the Episcopal Church, this book explores the tensions between our denomination’s historical connection to establishment and empire and our desire to love Jesus and become a church in solidarity with the marginalized and oppressed. Mother Anna will lead two discussion groups the first at 10 am and after second at 12 pm on July 11 — both sessions will be held in the church.

Books may be purchased by online or ordered at your local bookstore.

Happy Reading!
