The First Sunday after the Epiphany: The Baptism of the Lord — Holy Eucharist (said in the Muriel Moore Chapel)

We will gather for a celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 9 am in the Muriel Moore chapel on Sunday. In recognition that we are a community that cares for one another and in order to help protect those among us with health concerns, we encourage mask wearing during worship. And, if you are not feeling well we ask that you join the service via livestream at 11 am.

All are welcome as we gather together at 9:00 am in our beloved church.

Title: Baptism of Christ; Artist: Andrea del, Verrocchio (1435?-1488) & Leonardo, da Vinci, (1452-1519) Notes: Andrea del Verrocchio was an Italian artist and master of a workshop in Florence. One of his pupils, the famous Leonardo da Vinci, is believed to have helped on this piece, Baptism of Christ. This painting portrays John the Baptist on the banks of the Jordan River, baptizing a haloed Jesus. Two angels kneel in front of a palm tree while John pours the cleansing water on Jesus’ head. John holds a staff and a scroll that reads, “Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world.” God’s hands reach down from the opened heavens as a dove and rays of light reveal Jesus’ divinity.
