Perhaps it would be good for each of us to pause for a moment and look deeply into our own hearts and ask ourselves just what is the most impossible challenge we face in our Christian life today. Is it possibly the pandemic we have been experiencing, could it be financial, perhaps concern about our own health, family, those who refuse to take the vaccine? As we seriously consider the matter, would it be possible to place the value of that impossibility up against God’s power, and find a real and lasting solution that is pleasing to God?
Perhaps we are not facing such challenges at this moment, but they may come later.
If we are climbing a little mole hill in our Christian walk today, we may be struggling up a steep incline of an impossible mountain tomorrow.
Just how can we deal with such impossible challenges?
Could Jesus still do that which is impossible for us today?
Remember – The impossible becomes possible when we rely on the Lord.
A couple of years ago my wife and I where on a cruise and I was asked to assist in leading a Sunday service for Christians. Aside from preaching at the service, the ship staff provided a take away, which I would like to share with you as we go through life’s struggles.
It is called, “Heavens Grocery Store.”
I was walking down Life’s highway a long time ago.
One day I saw a sign that read, “Heavens Grocery Store”
As I got a little closer, the door came open wide and when I came to myself, I was standing inside.
I saw a host of ANGELS. They were standing everywhere.
One handed me a basket and said, ‘My child shop with care.
Everything a Christian needed was in that grocery store and all you couldn’t carry, you would come back the next day for more.
First, I got some PATIENCE, LOVE was in the same row.
Further down, was UNDERSTANDING, you need that everywhere you go.
I got a box or two of WISDOM, bag or two of FAITH.
I just couldn’t miss the HOLY GHOST FOR IT WAS ALL OVER THE PLACE.
I stopped to get some STRENGTH and COURAGE to help me run this race.
By then my basket was getting full, but I remembered to get some GRACE.
I didn’t forget my SALVATION, for SALVATION is FREE.
Then I started up the counter to pay my grocery bill for I thought I had everything to do my MASTER’S will.
As I went up the aisle I saw PRAYER and I just had to put that in for I know when I stepped outside, I would run into sin.
PEACE and JOY were plentiful, they were the last on the shelf.
SONG and PRAISES were hanging near so I just helped myself.
Then I said to the angel, now, how much do I owe?
He just smiled and said, ‘Take them everywhere you go.’
Again, I smiled, and said, ‘How much do I really owe?’
He smiled again and said, ‘MY CHILD, JESUS PAID YOUR BILL A LONG, LONG TIME AGO!’
‘ALL THINGS WHATSOEVER YOU SHALL SEEK IN PRAYER, BELIEVING, YOU SHALL RECEIVE.’”
May we all have the opportunity to visit this “Grocery Store” and receive what is contained therein.
