Our friends at Tapestry are committed partners to Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen. Several of their brands have volunteered with us as part of our Good Corporate Citizen program and we’re thankful for their ongoing support of our fellow New Yorkers who need a helping hand.
Last week, 45 employees from Coach and Stuart Weitzman joined us during our Soup Kitchen volunteer shift. Coach and Stuart Weitzman employees donated a combined 135 hours of time volunteering at the Soup Kitchen. We’re thankful to them for not only taking time away from their busy work schedules to lend a helping hand, but also for coupling their volunteerism with a monetary donation that paid for the food they distributed to our visitors.
Volunteers packed bags of groceries for visitors to our food pantry, made sandwiches for our unhoused neighbors who are sleeping on the streets, and prepared bags of snacks and condiments for our daily meal service.
Their teams were crucial in providing food for our community during a busy week here at Holy Apostles. With the help of volunteers from Stuart Weitzman and Coach, we provided 1,015 families with 3,045 bags of groceries, approximately 61,854 pounds of food through our food pantry. During the week, between all our meal programs, we served over 66,000 meals.
