Let Your Light Shine | The Rev. Robert A. Jacobs, Deacon

02.3.23 | Celebration, Community, International, Pulpit Posts, World

When was the last time you thought about your relationship with the Lord? How is it? Do others see the light of Christ shining in your eyes and from your face? Do you serve the Lord letting your light shine in the darkness, or do you only allow it to shine in the light, among other Christians, where it may not be seen? Does your salt flavor the world or does it harm those around you?

We need to get out and salt the world and lead the lost to the light of Jesus Christ. If we are not doing so, then we need to ask the Lord to forgive us where we have failed Him.

Those who have never before walked in the light of Jesus and felt His warmth and radiance know that He offers His light to all of us. Know that our Lord will pull you out of your darkness, and open your eyes so you can see clearly that the world is not where your joy is found. You need to hone in on the light and aim straight for it. Jesus Christ is our Lord and savior and through Him we receive eternal life, and find new joy and meaning.

Wherever there is light, it has the capacity to attract people in its direction. When you lift up Jesus in your life, you will be a shining example for others and attracting good things in your life.

Light uncovers darkness and removes obscurity. It brings clarity and understanding.

There is a tremendous need to use all our power to shine the light of the gospel in a dark world.

We need to shine the Light because Christ is the Eternal Illumination that drives out darkness. We need to shine the light so that God the Father may be glorified.

In shining the light we express our gratitude to God for His blessings; showing care and kindness to others, maintain integrity and have peace with all and be a peacemaker among all.
