Distributing Cold Weather Essentials to Our Guests

02.22.21 | Donate, Food for the Soul

The winter months are always a difficult time for many of our guests, as sleeping on the streets is unsafe and shelter space is limited. This year, in the midst of a global pandemic, it’s been harder than ever to find places to stay safe and warm.

Last month, our team reached out to our community with a  big need for our guests: cold weather essentials. Our Operation HopeFULL campaign sought to alleviate the hardships cold weather brings by supplying our guests with cold weather gear like foot warmers, coats, socks, blankets, thermal sets, hats, and gloves. We began this campaign with a partnership with IAC. Their generous donation allowed us to create 500 cold weather care packages for our guests, and some of their team members volunteered and packed these care packages. Thanks to the incredible generosity of individual donors, we were able to raise a total of $37,791 to provide cold weather essentials for our guests.

This month, as we faced frigid temperatures and raging snowstorms, these essentials were even more important. To say thank you to IAC and the incredible donors who have kept our guests warm this winter, we wanted to share some images of our guests appreciating their new gear and saying thank you for your generosity!
