At Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen, volunteers are truly a part of everything we do. Our work is supported by individual volunteers who join us once a week or once a month, and corporate groups, our Good Corporate Citizens, who join us for Days of Service. One of those Good Corporate Citizens working to support our mission is Gasthalter.
Our friends at Gasthalter volunteered for the entire day – with one group of employees joining us in the morning to pack bags of groceries for our food pantry and another group of volunteers joining us in the afternoon to distribute those bags to the guests that visit our food pantry. By separating their employees into two groups of volunteers, they were able to give everyone an opportunity to volunteer and they provided volunteers for a full day of meal service at Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen.
Together, the Gasthalter team provided 315 households with over 23,000 pounds of groceries, including fresh produce, frozen protein, and traditional pantry staples, like dry goods. When reflecting on their day at Holy Apostles, Gasthalter said: “The Gasthalter team had a meaningful and enjoyable day serving the local community at Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen.”
At Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen volunteers make up the backbone of our operations. They are always working behind the scenes to make sure that everyone in our community has access to healthy and nutritious food. Whether they are an individual or a corporate group joining us for the day, our volunteers are essential in our work.
