During our Food Pantry over the last two weeks, gratitude filled the space as parents and grandparents picked out holiday toys for their children and grandchildren. Some kids visiting the Food Pantry with their relatives even got to pick out their own toys!
City Council Member Erik Bottcher collected over 800 toys, donated from members of our community. And thanks to funds from Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen & Food Pantry partner IAC, we were able to purchase additional toys to ensure that no family was turned away without a gift for their children.
The smiles in the photos say it all. The annual holiday toy drive spreads joy to so many families in our community.
On December 23rd, Chef Chris and the culinary team whipped up a delicious holiday meal with baked chicken, creamy pasta with peas, honey glazed carrots, apple crisp, and pumpkin pie to celebrate Christmas with our Soup Kitchen guests.
On Christmas Eve, we were joined by our partners at Acts of Humanity to distribute blankets, clothing, and more to New Yorkers living on the streets. The holidays can be an especially difficult time for our unhoused neighbors, and we’re grateful for those who join us to support those guests during this time.
Thanks to all those who support our guests throughout the holiday season and during the year.
