Good Corporate Citizen: Haynes & Company

12.20.21 | Donor Stories, Food for the Soul, Voices of our Community

At Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen, our Good Corporate Citizens are essential in supporting the work that we do here every day. Whether they’re a large company with a global presence or a small business owned by a life-long New Yorker, our Good Corporate Citizens provide essential resources that allow us to provide sustenance and support for New Yorkers in need, and many of our partners volunteer with us at the Soup Kitchen so that they can see the impact of their donation first hand.

Our neighbors at Haynes & Company are the newest to join the ranks of our Good Corporate Citizen Partners. Through a generous donation to Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen, Haynes & Company provided 25,000 pounds of food for our guests. That’s the equivalent of 5 elephants, 50 lions, or 63 dolphins.

Elizabeth Haynes, Founder and President of Haynes & Company, first came to our organization as a Chelsea resident who witnessed the increase in need throughout 2020. She, and many of our other neighbors, saw our lines grew longer and longer each day, and reached out to offer her company’s support.

When asked what motivated her company to join our efforts, Elizabeth shared, “I live in Chelsea, down the street from your location, and it’s urgently important to me that we do our best to support the local neighborhood right now.” She also shared she was inclined to support our daily soup kitchen and homeless relief services because she wanted to make a tangible difference in the lives of our neighbors who may not have a home of their own.

At the Soup Kitchen, we are thankful for the ongoing generosity of Haynes & Company. To learn more about how your company can become a Good Corporate Citizen like Haynes & Company, click here.
