Volunteer Spotlight: Marriott

06.23.21 | Food for the Soul, Volunteer Stories

Our friends at Marriott recently joined us at Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen for a Day of Service. Their generosity of time and dedication to our mission supports hundreds of New Yorkers struggling with hunger, homelessness, and other forms of hardship.

Marriott employees packed 516 bags of 2,924 pounds of vegetables, 2,236 pounds of protein, and 8,944 pounds of dry goods for families enrolled our pantry program. These bags included locally sourced food items, including fresh produce, poultry, dairy and dry goods. Each pantry family receives enough groceries to feed a family of 4 each week.

Immediately afterwards, the pantry units were distributed to 172 households who visited our pantry from all 5 boroughs. If you want learn more about how your company can host a Day of Service or volunteer at Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen, click here to read our Good Corporate Citizen Guide.
